FAQ About IPL Skin Rejuvenation(2)

During treatment

How long does a treatment session last?
A session usually lasts 15-20 minutes, depending on the area being treated.

How does the treatment feel?
The procedure is gentle, non-invasive, and safe, and IPL treatments feel like a gentle tap or flick on the surface of the skin. Although each person's tolerance varies, a topical anesthetic is usually not required.

Does it hurt?
The applicator has a built-in cooling feature to make the treatment as comfortable as possible, but you may feel a little discomfort if you are treating more sensitive areas such as the upper lip. If you find it too uncomfortable, let the operator know and they can adjust the treatment accordingly.

After the treatment

How will I feel after the treatment?
Your skin may feel warm, like a sunburn, and will stay red for anywhere from a few hours to a day. Please be sure to follow the instructions before and after your treatment.

How long will the results last and will they be permanent?
It really depends on how your skin responds to the treatment and how you care for it afterward. For example, if you protect your skin from the sun, the results will last longer. We recommend a touch-up every 3-6 months, depending on how your skin responds to the treatment.

Is there downtime?
There is no downtime. You can resume your daily routine immediately after your treatment.

Do I need to do anything after the treatment?
Avoid tanning and wear sunscreen for at least 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after treatment. You should also avoid hot showers, massages, or any treatment that requires direct skin contact for the first 2 days after treatment.

If I receive a facial, can I wear makeup immediately afterward?
Yes, you can wear makeup immediately after the treatment, but be sure to apply sunscreen first.
